This is the thread for members of our tech team to communicate on various projects on which they are working. This is a thread almost exclusively for those volunteers.

first question: who designed the header picture that's at the brokeback shop ? i thought we could design a similar one for the cafepress page, to give the pages a similar appearance.

I think Greg designed that, but we can copy it and manipulate as needed.

that's great. i'll try and work up a design proposal this afternoon. had a look at the page, the possibilities of customsation are quite good, won't be a problem to make it similar to the forum pages. did you already hear from chris ? is he going to do the html ? if for some reason he can't do it i think i can do it as well. it's pretty simple.

I have not heard from Chris today, but yesterday he said he would check it out. Nice to know it is not too daunting of a task. We need to find a way to include a link on that Cafe Press page back to the main store page. I also need to look at th copy and decide what we actually want on there.

here's a design proposal i quickly threw together today. it's just a rough one, to give you an impression of what i had in mind. therefore - ideas, chritisism & everything else welcome and desired !

Looks okay thus far. I am upcountry in Thailand for the next 24 hours, but will be online after that.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Hi

sorry just got rob's email.

Very cool proposal, looks good.

I'm wondering if you want it to look exactly our store, we could do a screen cap on our store and either cut it up into all the parts we need, or just put all the hit points over the screen cap as a background...Just an idea...

chris, whatever you prefer ! and whenever you have other ideas, please say so !

what i also thought about was the buttons. in my proposal i only did some white-with-balck-border things. but we could do them in that blue design the forum has..or completely different. maybe some kind of "logo" on them would be nice (like, let's say, 2 cowboy hats on the left side or so). what do you think ?
did you check the cafe-page already ? seems quite easy to write the html...

I have had a crazy week...lol

I hate sites like this, I like using DW and being able to see what my coding is doing, with this it will be alittle nuts, making changes saving previewing.

I don't think my screencap idea would work, well it could but it would be way complicated.

I wouldn't make the buttons to complicated, simple is always better.
Maybe just the shape of hats or something with the words in them, for the header of each section.
