In 1991 (I think), a dozen of my college friends and I set out to build a log cabin in Michigan's upper peninsula, near the Michigami Resevoir. Much to my suprise, it worked! Here are some pix of the first year and the finished product. That's me in a big hole that I dug for the center beam. Don't ask me why I'm making that face. So far, I just have one scanned. This is one of my favorite days ever, when we first arrived at the temple, after half a day by car, foot, boat, foot. I was in heaven. My writing studio. It's just down the hall from my apartment. Best investment I ever made. I should have listened to my friend Miles years ago. If you're serious about your writing, and can afford to get a space dedicated to your writing, or even think you might be able to afford it . . . get it!
